My name is Rafael Alves, known as Shinzo. I created the AnimeNew website in 2009 to offer news about anime, manga, and games directly from Japan.

This month marks 5 years since the premiere of the anime Blend S , an adaptation of the manga written and illustrated by Miyuki Nakayama . Therefore, fans were saddened that a second season has not yet been announced, especially now that the original manga has finished.

Check out what the fans are saying:

  • @Lambo_MX – Wow, how time flies, I want a second season please;
  • @Manwell35 – If they cancelled the manga, then there won't be a new season
  • @alduhe666 – My first anime, I watched it because of the meme xD
  • @duplexlamp – Why don't they make another season?
  • @gifariarsal – OK. Now we need season two.

Synopsis:

Sakuranomiya Maika is a bright young woman with a desire to become independent and travel the world. Since her family is quite traditional and, as a true Japanese person, she has an introverted nature, possessing one "flaw": a sadistic smile. Because of this, she can't find a part-time job to earn money to travel the world. Amidst this disillusionment, she meets, in a typical teenage romance, a foreigner who fits the Japanese stereotype (blond hair and blue eyes). A few days after this encounter, she passes by a Maid cafe and sees that it has vacancies. She enters the establishment to fulfill her wish and encounters the same foreigner, who happens to be the owner of the place, a hardcore otaku. From then on, we have her many stories in this Shaft-esque establishment in Akihabara.

The publisher released the seventh compiled volume in March 2021, followed by the eighth and final volume in May 2022 in Japan. The play inspired a twelve-episode anime adaptation produced by A-1 Pictures studios , directed by Ryouji Masuyama and with scripts written by Gou Zappa , released in October 2017.
