Synopsis
The story begins with Japan's elimination from the 2018 FIFA World Cup, prompting the Japan Football Union to launch a program to recruit high school players to begin training for the 2022 World Cup. Isagi Yoichi, a striker, receives an invitation to this program shortly after his team missed out on the national championship. His coach, Ego Jinpachi, intends to "end Japan's failed football" by introducing a radical new training regime: isolating 300 young strikers in a prison-like institution called "Blue Lock" and subjecting them to rigorous training with the goal of creating "the best striker in the world."
