Synopsis

The story revolves around Hitori Goto, nicknamed “Bocchi-chan”, a lonely high school girl who loves playing the guitar and spends her days playing alone at home. By chance, she joins the “Kessoku Band” led by its drummer Nijika Ijichi. She's not used to playing in front of people, but will she be able to become a great band member?

Voice actors include:

  • Yoshino Aoyama as Hitori “Bocchi-chan” Gotou
  • Sayumi Suzushiro as Nijika Ijichi
  • Saku Mizuno as Ryоu Yamada
  • Ikumi Hasegawa as Ikuyo Kita

Keiichirou Saitou (ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept. Regards) is directing the anime at studio CloverWorks. Erika Yoshida (Lupine III: Part IV) is supervising and writing the scripts for the series. Kerorira (animation director of Wonder Egg Priority) is therefore designing the characters.

The anime's “Kessoku Band” features Ikumi Hasegawa (voice of Ikuyo Kita) on vocals, who is also performing the opening and ending songs. Singer-songwriter Ai Higuchi wrote the lyrics, while Otoha, a member of the music group 48foureight, composed the opening song titled “Seishun Complex” (Youth Complex). KANA-BOON vocalist and guitarist Maguro Taniguchi then wrote the lyrics and composed the music for the closing song titled “Distortion!!”

Hamaji then launched the manga in Houbunsha's Manga Time Kirara Max magazine in December 2017, and the series is ongoing.
