Synopsis
The novel tells the story of Kaede Honjou, a young woman who starts playing the MMO NewWorld Online at the request of her friend Risa Shiramine. Within the game, Kaede creates the character Maple , but Maple's fear of pain causes her to put all her experience points into defense. As a result, she moves slowly, cannot use magic, and even a rabbit can get the better of her. But, it seems, she acquires a skill known as "Absolute Defense" as a result of putting her points into VIT, as well as a "Counterattack Skill" that works against special moves. Now, with her ability to nullify all damage, she embarks on adventures.
The first season of BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, So I'll Max Out My Defense premiered in Japan in January 2020. Furthermore, Funimation streamed it as the episodes aired in Japan.
