Kadokawa announced that the 2nd season of the BOFURI Itai no wa Iya nano de Bougyoryoku ni Kyokufuri Shitai to Omoimasu ( I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense ) anime will premiere in January 2023. The anime was scheduled to premiere this year.

Synopsis
The novel tells the story of Kaede Honjou, a young woman who starts playing the MMO NewWorld Online at the request of her friend Risa Shiramine. Within the game, Kaede creates the character Maple, but Maple's fear of pain causes her to put all her experience points into defense. As a result, she moves slowly, cannot use magic, and even a rabbit can get the better of her. But, it seems, she acquires a skill known as "Absolute Defense" as a result of putting her points into VIT, as well as a "Counterattack Skill" that works against special moves. Now, with her ability to nullify all damage, she embarks on adventures.
Staff
Shin Oonuma ( WATAMOTE ) and Mirai Minato ( Masamune-kun no Revenge ) directed the first season at studio SILVER LINK (Mirai Minato co-directed the first season with Oonuma). Fumihiko Shimo ( Anima Yell! ) was responsible for series composition. Kazuya Hirata designed the characters and served as chief animation director. Hiroyuki Honda will also be chief animation director, while Taro Masuda will compose the soundtrack.
The first season of the anime inspired by Yuumikan aired in January 2020 in Japan. Additionally, in Brazil, the anime is available on Crunchyroll .
Finally, Yuumikan began serializing BOFURI on the Shosetsuka ni Naro Comp Ace magazine in May 2018.
