The sixth season of My Hero Academia premiered on October 1st. The season arrived in two continuous parts (a one-year quarter), totaling 25 episodes. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime as it airs in Japan.

Synopsis

In a world where almost everyone possesses some kind of superhuman power, Izuku Midoriya is one of the few ordinary people. But that's not his biggest problem. Precisely because he lacks any superpowers, Izuku constantly suffers at the hands of his classmates. In this fictional world, since the first confirmed case of a newborn with some kind of superpower, the crime rate has risen proportionally to the emergence of heroes with a wide variety of abilities. And, as expected, Izuku's dream is to become a superhero. This seemed impossible until the day he helps the powerful All Might capture a slimy villain. By demonstrating great courage and a strong sense of justice, with the help of the famous blond-haired hero, the boy will finally have the chance to become the person he's always dreamed of!

So far, the new season has adapted the "Paranormal Liberation War" arc, which features an all-out war between heroes and villains. The band SUPER BEAVER performed the previous opening theme song, "Hitamuki," while singer Kiro Akiyama performed the previous ending theme song, "SKETCH."

The anime's first 13-episode season premiered in April 2016. The second 25-episode season premiered in April 2017, and the third season premiered in April 2018 and ran for 25 episodes. The fourth season premiered in Japan in October 2019 and aired for 25 episodes. A two-episode OVA special for the franchise aired in Japan in August 2020, with Funimation and Crunchyroll streaming the episodes.

Finally, the fifth season of the anime premiered in Japan in March 2021 and aired for a total of 25 episodes. A new two-episode OVA then aired in Japan in June 2022.
