The sixth season of Boku no Hero Academia premiered on October 1st. The season will air for two continuous runs (quarter of a year), totaling 25 episodes.

Crunchyroll is streaming the anime as it airs in Japan.

Singer-songwriter Eve is performing the new opening theme song “Bokura no”, while rock band Six Lounge is performing the new ending theme song “Kita Kaze”.

So far, the new season has adapted the “Paranormal Liberation War” arc, which features an all-out war between heroes and villains. The band SUPER BEAVER performed the previous opening theme song, “Hitamuki”, while singer Kiro Akiyama performed the previous ending theme song, “SKETCH”.

The anime's 13-episode first season premiered in April 2016. The 25-episode second season premiered in April 2017, and the third season premiered in April 2018 and had 25 episodes. The fourth season premiered in Japan in October 2019 and aired for 25 episodes.

A two-episode OVA special for the franchise was broadcast in Japan in August 2020, while Funimation and Crunchyroll streamed the episodes.

The fifth season of the anime premiered in Japan in March 2021 and aired for a total of 25 episodes. A new two-episode OVA was then shown in Japan in June 2022.

The sixth season of the anime therefore premiered on October 1st. Therefore, the season will air for two continuous runs (quarter of a year) and will have a total of 25 episodes. Lastly, Crunchyroll is streaming the anime as it airs in Japan.

Synopsis

In a world where almost the entire population possesses some superhuman power, Izuku Midoriya is one of the few cases of ordinary people. But that's not the biggest of its problems. Precisely because he is devoid of any power, Izuku constantly suffers at the hands of his classmates. In this fictional world, since the first confirmed case of a newborn with some type of power, the crime rate has grown proportionally to the emergence of heroes with the most varied capabilities. And, as expected, Izuku's dream is to become a superhero. This seemed impossible until the day he helped the powerful All Might capture a gooey villain.
