The story of the “youth sci-fi” manga takes place in the near future, the year 2049, where humanity has been aware, for many years, that the Earth is on an inevitable collision course with a large-scale comet. The story focuses on Yuuma, a boy obsessed with space, robots and the imminent collision.

Dai Sato (script supervisor for Eureka Seven) is writing the script, and pomodorosa (Listeners, Deca-Dence) is the original animation character designer and concept designer. Takahiko Yoshida (Cells at Work!, Big Windup!) is the character designer and animation director, while Masaru Yokoyama (2019-2021 Fruits Basket, Your Lie in April, Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans) is composing the music .
Therefore, GAGA and Avex Pictures are distributing the film.
Daichi Miura will therefore perform the film's theme song, called “Itsushika” (Before You Know It).
Tetsuya Imai (Alice & Zouroku) then launched the manga in Kodansha 's Afternoon in January 2011. The publisher currently published two volumes of the manga.
