The official preview for chapter 21 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, revealed on the franchise's website this Monday, April 14th, brought to light a moment full of emotion and symbolism: a flashback between Sasuke and Boruto discussing Sarada's awakening of the Mangekyo Sharingan.

The scene, marked by tension, trust, and uncertainty, shows Sasuke placing faith in his daughter's eyes, even without her fully understanding the power she has awakened. Meanwhile, recent events on the battlefield continue to escalate in gravity, with hostages, betrayals, and painful sacrifices.

Sarada awakens her power amidst the chaos

In previous chapters of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, the atmosphere in and around Konoha reached a critical point. Following the God Tree attack, Araya and Mitsuki were captured, leaving Sarada and Yodo in a desperate situation. Ryu, acting as an intermediary for the enemies, proposed a deal: information about Boruto in exchange for the hostages. Even under pressure, Sarada refused to betray her friend.

It was then that Yodo, driven by loyalty and a sense of responsibility, offered herself as a bargaining chip, believing that her sensory powers would be valuable to the enemies. However, Araya ignored the offer and violently attacked her, leaving her on the verge of death.

In the following moments, Yodo questions Sarada about a supposed hidden power. In this moment of extreme tension, Sarada finally activates her Mangekyo Sharingan — a milestone awaited since the end of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations.

Preview of chapter 21 features a revealing flashback with Sasuke

The promotional image for chapter 21 shows an emotional flashback between Sasuke and Boruto, with the latter appearing with a bandage over his right eye, signaling that he suffered recent injuries. The dialogue between the two occurs after Sarada begs her father to trust Boruto, insisting that he would never be capable of killing the Seventh Hokage. According to her, everyone is being deceived—and only she realizes it.

Sasuke displays his typical rational coldness, but the emotional weight of the scene is undeniable. He has no proof, but he believes in his daughter for one reason only: her Mangekyo Sharingan. He understands that Sarada hasn't fully grasped what happened yet, but he's certain that when the time comes, she'll know how to act.

Full dialogue from the flashback

Sasuke: "Something very unusual must have happened, something that surpasses human comprehension..."

Boruto: “…”

Sarada: "Dad, Boruto isn't bad!!! It's impossible that he killed the Seventh!!! Everyone is being deceived!!!!"

Sasuke: "'Everyone is being deceived,' yes. That's probably the truth. The Mangekyō Sharingan appeared to me, and there's no more reliable basis for it than that."

Boruto: "Master..."

Sasuke: "In this situation, those eyes will be a great asset (...) Sarada didn't seem to have realized yet that she had activated the Mangekyō Sharingan, but..."

Sasuke: "Surely the time will come when she awakens, and then she will understand intuitively."

Connection with the past and confidence in the future

This exchange of words not only revives the spirit of loyalty and faith that has always permeated the ninjas of Konoha, but also repositions Sasuke as a fundamental figure in Sarada's development. The use of the Mangekyo Sharingan is not just a technical feat—it's an emotional and psychological rite of passage. Sasuke's trust in his daughter, even without a full understanding of the events, echoes the complex master-disciple relationships seen in Naruto and reinforces the bond between generations.

Chapter 21 promises to intensify the plot even further

The new chapter will be officially released on April 20, 2025, in the special June edition of Shueisha. In addition to the flashback with Sasuke, the chapter is expected to explore the consequences of Sarada's Mangekyo Sharingan activation and delve deeper into the battle with the God Tree.

While fans eagerly await the continuation of the story, the preview already anticipates that strong emotions and important decisions will be at the heart of the narrative. The plot moves towards a phase of maturation and revelations, especially for Sarada, who is gradually establishing herself as one of the pillars of the new generation of ninjas.
