Chapter 22 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, titled Jura, features intense moments right from the start. Mitsuki asks Araya to retrieve Ryu's Thorn Soul Bulb while he faces the remaining Claw Grimes. Meanwhile, Jura emerges from one of these enemies and advances to the Land of Wind, ignoring the collection of his defeated ally's artifact. His priority is locating Boruto.

Matsuri, defeated earlier, begins to transform into a Thorn Soul Bulb. At that moment, a Mini Tailed Beast Bomb hits the ground near Boruto and Konohamaru. Reacting quickly, Boruto throws shurikens at the surrounding rock formations and orders Konohamaru to collect Matsuri's Bulb, setting up a rendezvous point with the Sand shinobi.
Soon after, Jura advances on the two. Boruto then grabs Konohamaru and throws him off the battlefield, ensuring his escape. With his ally safe, the protagonist focuses his full attention on the enemy. He begins the attack with a Rasengan thrown at Jura's back, which he counters with his Mini Tailed Beast Bomb, revealing the threat he poses.
Boruto defies fate in unequal combat
As the confrontation intensifies, Kashin Koji and Eida observe and discuss Boruto's chances of surviving. For Eida, despite his demonstrated resilience, Boruto is at a disadvantage. His teleportation style requires time to locate chakra-marked objects, something impossible given Jura's continuous attacks. According to Koji, the young man is simply trying to buy time for his allies to retreat.
Tensions mount when Jura reveals he's there with a clear mission: to kill Boruto. According to the Divine Tree, he knows too much about their plans and must be eliminated. In a moment of apparent introspection, Jura asks what love is. To him, this emotion represents a fatal weakness in humans, as it leads them to take risks even with minimal chances of victory.
The dialogue, however, doesn't interrupt the fight. Jura resumes his attacks with his Wood Release technique. Boruto manages to dodge some attacks but ends up losing his katana, captured by Jura. Upset by this disrespect for his master's legacy, Boruto responds with the Uzuhiko Rasengan, escaping the wooden prison and striking the God Tree with the same blow.
Jura neutralizes Uzuhiko's Rasengan and regains control of the fight
The sequence gives the impression that Boruto has managed to overcome his opponent, but the victory is short-lived. Jura resurfaces and completely nullifies Uzuhiko's Rasengan. According to him, the protagonist's technique shares similar principles with his Mini Biju Bomb, which enabled its neutralization.
The chapter ends with the fight still ongoing, but with a clear advantage for Jura. Tension remains high, leaving Boruto's fate open to question. The young ninja's protagonism, however, reaffirms his central role in the plot, even in the face of increasingly lethal challenges.
