Illustrator Mikio Ikemoto's most recent interview with the Japanese magazine V-Jump has placed Himawari Uzumaki in the spotlight in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. When questioned about an old scene involving the character, Ikemoto clarified a doubt that divided the audience: the chakra sensed by Daemon during their encounter was indeed related to the Nine-Tailed Fox. This information changes the understanding of Himawari's role in the plot and reinforces her connection to the legacy left by Naruto.

Ikemoto's revelation about Himawari Uzumaki's power

During the interview, Mikio Ikemoto was direct in answering one of the most debated questions among fans of the franchise. According to him, Daemon sensed in Himawari not only a powerful energy, but also a future compatibility with Kurama's chakra.

This power, still dormant, was perceived when the young girl was in Konoha, during a tense moment involving Jura and Hidari. On that occasion, even without specific training or evident signs of strength, Himawari exuded such an intense aura that it interrupted Daemon's hostile behavior.

The author explained that the combination of Uzumaki blood, inherited by Naruto, with Hyuuga blood, from his mother Hinata, creates a unique base of compatibility with chakras of great magnitude. The presence of Kurama, although not entirely manifest, exists as a latent potential within the girl. Thus, the rumors that the character had directly inherited the power of the Nine-Tailed Fox ceased to be mere speculation.

The confrontation with Jura and the first signs of the Fox's chakra

In chapters nine and ten of Two Blue Vortex, readers were able to see for the first time the concrete manifestation of Kurama's chakra in Himawari. Amidst the chaos in Konoha, the young girl demonstrated partial control of an initial form of Jinchuuriki, a state that occurs when a human harbors a Tailed Beast. Despite her limited experience, she managed to generate a Bijuu Bomb, a technique used by Kurama and Naruto in their most intense battles.

The burst of energy surprised not only the villagers but also the villain Jura. He recognized that the girl was no ordinary Jinchuuriki. To him, she seemed more like a Tailed Beast than a host. This recognition, coming from one of the most powerful characters in the new phase, strengthened the perception that Himawari has a role that goes beyond that of a supporting character. Even without full control, her affinity with Kurama already has practical effects within the story.

Untapped potential and the path to prominence

Despite initial displays of strength, Himawari remains a character with discreet development. Still without a direct leading role in the main battles, Naruto's daughter is being shaped for her own narrative arc. Ikemoto didn't detail how this growth will occur, but suggested that her compatibility with Kurama will be essential in decisive moments. This fuels the theory that she will be fundamental in balancing the current imbalance in the ninja universe.

The story presents a scenario where Boruto faces a deadly enemy and seems close to defeat. This potentially tragic outcome raises questions about the future of the resistance against forces like Jura. In this context, Himawari emerges as a promising figure, capable of assuming leadership of the new generation of ninja. Her latent strength, combined with her symbolic connection to Naruto, sets the stage for her to become more than just the protagonist's sister.
