From the moment Boruto: Two Blue Vortex released Matsuri and Ryu into the desert wasteland of Sunagakure, it seemed the stakes had gotten higher. Boruto was restrained and prevented from joining the fight, as Kashin Koji made it clear they couldn't intervene, as they would alter fate if they did.
Thus, Boruto had to remain at the base as this Singularity of Destiny. It wreaked death and destruction, with the Divine Trees being far more powerful than Boruto's friends. Now, in Chapter #20, the levees are breaking. A key character is killed, though this leads Uchiha Sarada to unlock a new aspect of her power and evolve her journey!
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex – Yodo's Death
While Konohamaru fights Matsuri, Yodo and Araya of the Sand join forces with Mitsuki and Sarada of Konoha against Ryu. However, they are unequipped to deal with Ryu. Thus, the villain has removed Araya's sand-sealing sword from the equation. He can now freely use his iron-sandbending abilities, making him an evil hybrid of Gaara and Shinki.
In fact, Yodo, in a panic, tries to negotiate when Ryu opens the door to a bargain, wanting information about Boruto's whereabouts. Furthermore, they all know that Boruto is their "messiah" and the only hero powerful enough to defeat Jura and the Divine Trees. Ultimately, Yodo is angered that they are literally sacrificing themselves in the line of duty, even causing his death.
Sarada activates the Mangekyō Sharingan
When Sarada sees the anguish they're going through and Yodo's suffering as she dies, she activates her Mangekyō Sharingan! These are the unique eyes that Uchihas develop from their Sharingan when they suffer extreme loss. Itachi got his when he learned that Shisui had to kill himself to protect the Hidden Leaf. Obito got his when Kakashi killed Rin to save Konoha. Sasuke got his when Itachi died.
Two Blue Vortex timeskip . It was more of a mental loss than a physical one for her, suggesting she was more trapped in her emotions. Well, as Yodo's life evaporates, Sarada's eyes come into full effect. She begins using Kamui: the power to suck things into a unique time-space dimension. Obito used it, as did Kakashi, Madara, and Black Zetsu.

Sarada has been a mystery during the Two Blue Vortex era. Readers saw the franchise's creator focus on Mitsuki's Sage Mode, honing her snake ninja skills. Boruto also teleported using his version of Flying Raijin. Sarada hasn't had much to do so far. This has left fans eager to see if her eyes are hiding new techniques. One such power could be Itachi and Sasuke's Amaterasu flames. Some are even wondering if she used paralyzing genjutsu moves, such as Tsukuyomi. These dreamlike states and trances paint her as a true prodigy.
They can complement her by accessing the Kamui Dimension. Like Obito, she can teleport enemies there to fight and leave them isolated. Someone like Ryu wouldn't have her Iron Sand, but he would have her teleportation bands to seed Grime Claw monsters. Still, he'd be in Sarada's territory, giving her a huge advantage. It's the perfect terrain for her to use her Mangekyō Sharingan.
