The official website for the tokusatsu Garo Project announced that the anime adaptation of the tokusatsu has been greenlit and could happen. Yasuko Kobayashi (Attack on Titan) is developing the original script for the series but the title is still uncertain. The Garo Project began in 2005, with the series first airing in 2006 and had around 25 episodes.
In the original story of Garo (The Savior in the Darkness in Portuguese) it is a tokusatsu of the Henshin Heroes type produced by Touhoku Shinsha Film Corporation. A young Kouga warrior who had his father killed by monsters called Horrors, for revenge becomes Garo, the Guardian Knight, the most powerful warrior of the Knights of Hell, and then starts hunting and destroying these beasts, until one day he meets Mitsuki Kaoru , a painter who dreams of being a great artist one day. Kaoru had her body bathed in the blood of a Horror and Kouga decides not to kill her, using her as bait, since the Horrors would follow her by the smell of the blood.
