Four Brazilian teams have secured their spots in the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 , the main Counter-Strike tournament of the season, which will be held from November 30th to December 15th in Shanghai, China. MIBR, paiN Gaming, Imperial , and FURIA earned their places through the RMR Americas 2024, a qualifier also held in China.

With 24 participating teams and a total prize pool of US$1.25 million (approximately R$6.25 million). In addition to the Brazilian teams, names like Team Liquid and Complexity will also be in the competition.

MIBR returns to the world stage

MIBR was the standout Brazilian team, reaching the Major with a flawless campaign: three wins and no losses. The team defeated KRÜ Esports 13-5 on Vertigo, beat Imperial 13-9 on Nuke, and secured their spot with a 2-0 victory against Complexity (13-9 on Nuke and 13-11 on Vertigo).

Thus, this performance marks MIBR's return to a world championship after two and a half years. Their last participation was at the PGL Major Antwerp 2022.

With three wins and one loss, paiN Gaming secured the second Brazilian spot. The team started by defeating Nouns 13-5 on Vertigo, but was beaten by Wildcard on Nuke (10-13). Following that, they showed consistency by beating Imperial 13-5 on Ancient and 9z Team 2-0 (13-11 on Mirage and 13-0 on Dust2).

Imperial and FURIA complete the Brazilian team

Despite a challenging journey, Imperial secured their Major qualification by finishing in sixth place. The team faced virtually all Brazilian opponents, including victories against Case and RED Canids Kalunga.

On the other hand, FURIA, the main Brazilian Counter-Strike organization, fought until the last round to secure its spot. With four wins and two losses, the team won the final against M80 2-0 (13-8 on Anubis and 13-8 on Vertigo).
