Production company Twin Engine opened a website today to announce its first original television anime, called Bucchigire! :
The story takes place at a time when samurai rule Japan. However, the Shinsengumi police force was practically wiped out by an unknown enemy, except for one survivor. Seven criminals were chosen as replacements for the Shinsengumi. To ensure law and order in Kyoto, a top-secret replacement operation is launched.
Tetsuo Hirakawa is directing the anime at Geno Studio, and also supervising the series' scripts. Shaman King manga creator Hiroyuki Takei is drafting the original character designs, which Masafumi Yokota is adapting for animation.
