Production company Twin Engine opened a website today to announce its first original television anime, called Bucchigire !:
The story takes place during the era when the samurai ruled Japan. However, the Shinsengumi police force was virtually wiped out by an unknown enemy, except for one survivor. Seven criminals were chosen as replacements for the Shinsengumi. To ensure law and order in Kyoto, a top-secret replacement operation is launched.
Tetsuo Hirakawa is directing the anime at Geno Studio, Shaman King manga creator Hiroyuki Takei is creating the original character designs, which Masafumi Yokota is adapting for animation.
