The production company Twin Engine today launched a website to announce its first original television anime, titled Bucchigire !
The story takes place during the era when samurai ruled Japan. However, the Shinsengumi police force has been virtually wiped out by an unknown enemy, except for one survivor. Seven criminals have been chosen as replacements for the Shinsengumi. To ensure law and order in Kyoto, a top-secret replacement operation is initiated.
Tetsuo Hirakawa is directing the anime at Geno Studio, and is also supervising the series scripts. The creator of the Shaman King manga , Hiroyuki Takei , is creating the original character designs, which Masafumi Yokota is adapting for animation.
