Bungo Stray Dogs – Anime will get a 5th season!

The team behind the anime Bungo Stray Dogs announced on Wednesday that it will have a fifth season in July. In addition, the team revealed the first promotional video and artwork for the new season.

The fourth season of the anime premiered in Japan on January 4th. The season finale aired this Wednesday.

The returning core team includes director Takuya Igarashi, script supervisor and writer Yoji Enokido, character designer and chief animation director Nobuhiro Arai, and animation studio BONES .

Voice actors Yuto Uemura (Atsushi Nakajima), Mamoru Miyano (Osamu Dazai), Sumire Morohoshi (Kyoka Izumi), Kensho Ono (Ryunosuke Akutagawa) and Kisho Taniyama (Chuya Nakahara) are also returning.

The band Screen Mode performs the opening theme song for the anime “True Story,” while the band Luck Life performs the ending theme song “Shirushi/°C.”

The first season of Bungo Stray Dogs aired from April to June 2016, and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan.

Synopsis

Expelled from the orphanage and on the verge of starving to death, Atsushi Nakajima meets some rather strange men. One of them, Osamu Dazai, is a suicidal man attempting to drown himself in broad daylight. Another, named Doppo Kunikida, stands there, nervously flipping through his notebook. Both are members of the Armed Detective Agency, and claim to be responsible for solving cases that neither the police nor the army dare to touch. Atsushi ends up accompanying them on a mission to eliminate a man-eating tiger that is terrorizing the population…
