Crunchyroll , WOWOW and Sony Pictures have announced that they are producing an anime adaptation of Tow Ubukata " Bye Bye, Earth . "
While the companies have not announced a premiere date for the anime, they did reveal that the anime will air on the WOWOW subscription television channel in Japan and will stream on Crunchyroll “in over 200 countries and territories.”
Synopsis
The story takes place on Earth inhabited by humans who have the ability to take on the form of animals. However, Bell is the only girl in the world without animal characteristics, so her main goal is to discover if other beings like her exist. Bell wields a sword and engages in the struggles between the cities and the outside world.
Ubukata's novel Bye Bye, Earth first released in December 2000, with art by Yoshitaka Amano . The work then received a new edition from 2007 to 2008 with illustrations by Hyung-Tae Kim .
