The wait is almost in the end! The anime Call of the Night ( Yofukashi No Uta ) debuts its second season on July 4, 2025, promising to warm the hearts of fans of romance and mystery. After all, it has been three years since Ko Yamori met the enigmatic vampire Nazuna Nanakusa, starting a journey that challenges the day and night.

In the first season, we accompanied Ko, a teenager who moved away from the common routine after developing insomnia. In his night walks by Tokyo, he meets Nazuna, a vampire who introduces him to the universe of creatures of the night. Although Nazuna finds the life of boring vampire, Ko wants to transform himself, but can only be able to fall in love with her - which arouses contradictory feelings between the two.
Call of the Night gets new dilemmas and old conflicts
However, conflicts increased in the final episodes. The arrival of Anko Uguisu , a vampire hunter, brought tension to the story. She killed a vampire in front of Ko and questioned her wishes. Despite this, Nazuna and Ko reconciled, sealing a kiss and the promise to try to make this love worth it.
Therefore, the new season should deepen Ko's dilemmas: to follow a common human life alongside friends like Akira and Mahiru, or embrace eternity with Nazuna. Likewise, topics such as identity, maturity and purpose will be resumed in full force.
A season to fall in love again
Undeniably, Call of the Night enchants for lightly treating the emotional chaos of youth. The contrast between day and night symbolizes the difficult choices of life - and the anime shows that courage and good friends make any journey possible.
However, Kotoyama launched the manga of “Call of the Night” at Weekly Shonen Sunday in August 2019. The anime adaptation is from the Leadenfilms and features the direction of Tomoyuki Itamura and script for Michiko Yokote .
