Capcom confirmed on Tuesday (4) that Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny will be remastered and released in 2025. Capcom announced the remaster during the Capcom Spotlight event, but has not yet revealed details about the graphical and mechanical changes.
The game, originally released in 2002 for PlayStation 2, continues the saga of the first title and features Jubei Yagyu as the protagonist . Set 13 years after the events of Onimusha: Warlords , the game combines action, historical narrative, and supernatural elements in feudal Japan.
Expansion of the Onimusha universe
The Onimusha franchise received its first remaster in 2018, and now Capcom is continuing the relaunch with Samurai's Destiny. The game stands out for offering a larger world to explore, new allied characters, and an improved combat system .
