After several rumors in 2011, it seems that the Captain Planet movie (Captain Planet and the Planeteers) is due to happen very soon.
Cartoon Network has not signed the contract to create the film yet, as Sony Pictures is in final negotiations to obtain the adaptation rights and create the long-awaited live action film.
Created by Ted Turner , the cartoon followed the adventures of a group of five young people who fought pollution and ecological disasters on Earth. With the union of their powers, Captain Planet emerged. The cartoon was shown here in Brazil for the first time in 1993, on the famous Rede Globo.
