After several rumors in 2011, it seems that the Captain Planet (Captain Planet and the Planeteers) movie should happen very soon.
Cartoon Network has not yet signed the contract to create the film, as Sony Pictures is in final negotiations to secure the adaptation rights and create the highly anticipated live-action movie.
Created by Ted Turner , the cartoon followed the adventures of a group of five young people who fought pollution and ecological disasters on Earth. By combining their powers, Captain Planet was born. The cartoon was first shown in Brazil in 1993 on the famous Rede Globo network.
