After several rumors in 2011, it seems that the Captain Planet movie (Captain Planet and the Planeteers) is happening very soon.
Cartoon Network has not signed a contract to create the film yet, as Sony Pictures is in final negotiations to obtain the adaptation rights and create the long-awaited live-action film.
Created by Ted Turner , the cartoon followed the adventures of a group of five young people who fought pollution and ecological disasters on Earth. By combining their powers, Captain Planet emerged. The cartoon first aired in Brazil in 1993 on the renowned Rede Globo network.
