For those who don't remember this gaming classic, SEGA and Disney Interactive Studios are planning a high definition version of the Mega Drive classic “Castle of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse”. The game will be released digitally for PS3, Xbox 360 and PCs during the North American summer (winter in Brazil).
This new version of “Castle of Illusion” is being developed by SEGA studios in Australia, but with visuals and mechanics equivalent to other games of this generation, mixing 2D and 3D. “Our plan is to deliver a title that makes use of all the hardware of the PS3, while maintaining the magic of the 1990 classic”, says Mai Kawaguchi, Digital Brand Manager at SEGA, in a post on the Playstation Blog .
In the story, the player will be Mickey, who must save his beloved Minnie from the terrible witch Mizrabel. During the journey, the hero will pass through different worlds, including a toy town, libraries with magical books and haunted forests.
