For those who don't remember this gaming classic, SEGA and Disney Interactive Studios are planning a high-definition version of the Mega Drive classic "Castle of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse." The game will be released digitally for PS3, Xbox 360, and PCs this summer.
This new version of "Castle of Illusion" is being developed by SEGA's Australian studios, but with visuals and mechanics equivalent to other games of this generation, blending 2D and 3D. "Our plan is to deliver a title that takes full advantage of the PS3's hardware while maintaining the magic of the 1990 classic," says Mai Kawaguchi, Digital Brand Manager at SEGA, in a post on the Playstation Blog .
In the story, the player takes on the role of Mickey Mouse, who must save his beloved Minnie Mouse from the terrible witch Mizrabel. During the journey, the hero will pass through diverse worlds, including a toy town, libraries with magical books, and haunted forests.
