The official anime website Cat's Eye has announced a new anime trailer. In addition, the series gained release date.
After almost 40 years, Cat's Eye , the iconic anime of the mysterious sisters, is back with a new series! The production will be launched exclusively on Disney+ Star in 2025 . The premiere takes place in the September 2025 season with animation from the Level Films .
Cat's Eye synopsis:
The story mixes action, romance and comedy as the sisters carry out daring escapes and play a game of cat and mouse with the police, including an exciting and risky relationship between Hitomi and detective Toshio.
The new adaptation is part of Disney's commitment to bringing classics to a modern audience while maintaining the charm that has won fans around the world.
Thus Cat's Eye is a manga written and illustrated by Tsukasa Hojo , published in Shueisha 's Weekly Shōnen Jump between 1981 and 1985 . In 1983 Tokyo Movie Shinsha studio released the first anime version, broadcast by Nippon TV , followed by a second season in 1985 .
Finally, the series also received a television film in 1988 and a film adaptation in 1997 .
