Kodansha 's Morning magazine, the staff for the adaptation of the manga Cells at Work! Code Black has been revealed.
The new anime arrives in January 2021 and is entirely animated by Liden Films (Terra Formars, Hanebado!), directed by Hideyo Yamamoto (Strike the Blood), written by Hayashi Mori (The Snack World, Layton Mystery Tanteisha: Katori no Nazotoki File) and character design by Eiji Abiko .
Additionally the voice actors are:
- Junya Enoki as Blood Cell (Erythrocyte),
- Yōko Hikasa as White Blood Cell (Neutrophil),
- Kenjiro Tsuda in narration
The story of Cells at Work! takes place inside the body of someone who drinks and smokes, has a lot of stress and cholesterol, and his cells struggle to fulfill their duties, and the possibility of cells dying is a daily reality.
Therefore, it is confirmed by Aniplex that in addition to this spinoff, the 2nd season will also be adapted, arriving in January 2021.
