2014 looks like it's going to be another banner year for gaming , perhaps because it could signal a significant shift in the way people play.

This could be the year virtual reality establishes itself as a popular way to play, at least in Europe and the US.
According to the BBC, Valve will announce a software development kit at Steam Dev Days , which begins on January 15th, according to Brian Coomer.

Now it remains to be seen who will produce it, Oculus (creator of the rift ) which already works with Valve or Sony, which is also entering the fray.
