Chained Soldier Goes on Hiatus Due to Artist's Health

The manga Chained Soldier (Mato Seihei no Slave) will go on hiatus due to artist Yōhei Takemura's health issues. The break followed an announcement on the Shonen Jump+ website. In a statement, Takemura revealed that he hurt his right wrist in June, suffering a fibrocartilage injury. Since then, the artist has continued working with a brace, but the strain of drawing has caused pain and hindered his recovery.
According to Takemura, a full recovery will take an extended period of time. For that reason, he decided to temporarily stop producing drafts to allow his wrist to heal.
The Shonen Jump+ editorial team announced that publication is scheduled to resume on November 14. However, the artist's health will take priority, and the manga's release schedule will be determined later in consultation with Takahiro and Takemura, following medical advice.
Takahiro and Takemura launched the manga on Shonen Jump+ in January 2019. The series also received an anime adaptation, whose third season is currently in production.
