Chainsaw Man fans defend cosplay that was targeted by bullying

This week, Dante , an American boy, won a Halloween contest at his school wearing a Chainsaw Man cosplay. However, after the contest, he was bullied, and his cosplay was destroyed. The incident went viral online, and several fans, including the anime's voice actors, expressed their support for Dante.

Check it out:

After Dante's father shared his son's story on Twitter, thousands of Chainsaw Man fans came out in support of the boy. In the photos, the father shows off his son's homemade cosplay, which even won the costume contest. According to the post, other children at school attacked Dante after the contest and destroyed his cosplay.

However, even Ryan Colt Levy, Denji 's American voice actor , sent a message of support. Like the fans, he praised the boy for his work and encouraged him not to give up. All this support moved Dante and helped him regain his composure after the incident.

Synopsis:

The story takes place in a world where demons are born from human fears. While they are generally dangerous and malevolent, humans can form contracts with demons to harness some of their power. Denji is a depressed young man trying to repay his late father's debt to the yakuza by selling several of his organs and working as a demon hunter. But Denji also has a small pet demon named Pochita, who assists him in his work.

Tatsuki Fujimoto launched the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in December 2018, concluding the first arc in December 2020 with 11 volumes. Now the manga continues with its sequel through a new story and a different protagonist, Mitaka Asa, a student who attends the same high school as Denji.
