Chainsaw Man parody outsells anime in Japan

A live-action adult parody of Chainsaw Man , called Dildo Man , has had a good amount of Blu-ray sales in Japan. However, the big surprise is that sales of this "Rated" parody have outperformed the original Chainsaw Man anime.

Chainsaw Man parody surpasses anime in sales in Japan

According to sources, Dildo Man sold 8,600 Blu-ray copies in its opening week in Japan. On the other hand, the anime adaptation of Chainsaw Man by MAPPA sold only 1,735 copies in its first week. So, if the report is true, it means the adult parody of Chainsaw Man outsold the original anime.

Dildo Man was produced by the adult film company Studio TMA and premiered on April 28th. The parody follows the same story as Chainsaw Man, but changes several aspects to create a more adult and trashy humor. In this story, the protagonist "Chinji" has his head and arms transformed into vibrators and begins working for a woman named "Bakima."

Synopsis:

The story takes place in a world where demons are born from human fears. While they are generally dangerous and malevolent, humans can form contracts with demons to harness some of their power. Denji is a depressed young man trying to repay his late father's debt to the yakuza by selling several of his organs and working as a demon hunter. But Denji also has a small pet demon named Pochita, who assists him in his work.

Therefore Tatsuki Fujimoto launched the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in December 2018, finishing the first arc in December 2020 with 11 volumes.
