According to sources, Dildo Man sold 8,600 Blu-ray copies in its opening week in Japan. On the other hand, the anime adaptation of Chainsaw Man made by studio MAPPA sold only 1,735 copies in its first week. So, if the news is true, it means that the adult parody of Chainsaw Man sold more than the original anime itself.
Dildo Man was made by adult film company Studio TMA and premiered on April 28th. The parody follows the same story as Chainsaw Man, but changes several things to create adult and trashy humor. In this story, the protagonist “Chinji' has his head and arms turned into vibrators and he starts working for a woman called “Bakima”.
Synopsis:
The story takes place in a world where demons are born from human fears. Although they are generally dangerous and malevolent, humans can form contracts with demons to use a portion of their power. Denji is a depressed young man who is trying to pay off his late father's debt to the yakuza by selling several of his organs and working as a demon hunter. But Denji also has a small pet demon called Pochita, who helps him in his work.
Therefore Tatsuki Fujimoto launched the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in December 2018, ending the first arc in December 2020 with 11 volumes.
