Character exchange would save the worst arc of One Piece

One Piece is one of the longest anime and manga, continuing strong even after more than a thousand episodes and over a thousand chapters. Although one of the most beloved anime , even One Piece has weak arches, especially for the expectations of the series. Thus, one of the worst is the “island of pell men”, which is particularly unfortunate because it is also the first large arc of the straw hats after the temporal jump.

  • The 15 best samurai anime of all time
  • Kaiju No. 8: Game exceeds 200 thousand pre-registrations in the world

In addition, the arc introduces an important story in exploring topics of oppression, racism, slavery and hatred towards peixe men and mermaids .

Nevertheless, the arc fails. Sanji 's perverted joke , for example, is amplified at an uncomfortable level, leaving fans grateful for the big change in the character in One Piece . Meanwhile, the arc's main villain, Hody , is not even close to One Piece's previous great villains, despite what it represents, and can easily be ignored by the other enemies that draw attention. One Piece's remastering is trying to correct some of the original arc problems, another change could have greatly helped this bow, and it would be the inclusion of Arlong.

One Piece: Arlong Park Arch

Returning to the beginning of One Piece , Arlong is the final chief of the East Blue saga . While the straw hats find many villains before him, Arlong Park is the climate completion of his time in East Blue, and is an epic conclusion that fans for One Piece . In addition, the fight between Luffy and Arlong is iconic and shows the type of captain and friend Luffy is. Meanwhile, Arlong is an enemy unlike any other at that point in the series, causing the dangers waiting for the straw hats when they enter the Grand Line.

The straw hats have evolved a lot from Arlong Park, conquering new members to the island of Men-Peixe. Along with this, they became significantly stronger. An incredible way to show this growth is through a rematch with an old villain, such as the epic rematch between Luffy and Robci in Egghead. This demonstration of strength could have been made before, however, with a rematch between Luffy and Arlong. Also, with Arlong ending the East Blue saga of the straw hats, there would be poetic to helping him to open his next saga while they enter the new world.

Arlong, Jinbe and Hody

It would be poetic to have Arlong as the great villain before the straw hats arrived in the new world, as this would continue to explore the themes of oppression and hatred, centered on the island of Men-Peixe. On this island, the peex and mermaids are marginalized and treated as inferior, without civil rights, even being enslaved, while the world government closes its eyes to such atrocities, allowing heavenly dragons to benefit from this discrimination. Arlong, with his belief that peeing men are superior to humans and deserve to dominate, symbolizes this struggle against the oppressive system, but their motivations and methods contrast with those of other characters, such as Hody, who is lost in hatred, even harming their own pamy men who claim to fight.

The difference between Arlong and Hody deserves greater exploitation as it reflects how hatred can become cyclical and generate varied answers. While Arlong, despite his flaws, was careful about his crew. However, Hody is consumed by anger and desire for revenge, which prevents him from seeing beyond his suffering. The contrast of attitudes can also be seen in the way other pirates, such as Jinbe, respond to oppression and seek more peaceful alternatives. Arlong's return could offer a unique opportunity to deepen these dilemmas. Thus, showing how the hatred and oppression cycle affects each character differently, as well as revealing viable alternatives of resistance and liberation to the pamper men.

Villains that have already returned before

It is not uncommon for past villains to return to One Piece . Bon Clay made a triumphant return in Immel Down, saving Luffy several times. Crocodile has also returned, and has been a character in One Piece since he joined Cross Guild with Mihawk and Buggy.

The perfect moment was the island of the peixe men, given its direct connection with the island and several of the main characters there. In addition, his story with Nami and Jinbe would have made this reunion even more interesting. Arlong is one of the best villains on the previous arches, so if Arlong didn't return, it would be a missed opportunity. One Piece lost this chance once earlier, with the island of Men-Peixe, but I hope it doesn't miss it again.
