NHK official Twitter account revealed that it may delay or change the broadcast dates of some anime airing on NHK E-TV due to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
See below for the anime and their respective episodes that may be affected:
- WASIMO (episodes from July 26th to 27th, August 2nd to 3rd)
- Ojarumaru (episodes from July 28th to 30th, August 4th to 6th, September 1st, September 3rd)
- Nintama Rantaro (episodes from July 26th to 30th, August 2nd to 6th, September 1st, September 3rd)
- Fushigi Dagashiya Zenitendoi (episodes airing July 27, August 3, and August 31)
- Uchuu Nanchara Kotetsu-kun (episodes airing July 28, August 4, August 25, and September 1)
- Major 2nd (episodes on July 28, August 4, August 25, September 1)
- Oshiri Tantei (episodes airing July 24, July 31, August 7, August 28, September 4)
- Motto! Majime ni Fumajime Kaiketsu Zorori (episodes on July 30th, August 6th, August 27th, September 3rd)
- Welcome to Demon School, Iruma-kun (episode on August 28th)
- Love Live! Superstar!! (episodes on July 25th, August 1st, and August 29th)
NHK therefore plans to cancel broadcasts of the episodes listed above. The channel asks viewers to check the programming guide for the latest broadcast information.
The official Twitter account dedicated to the anime Love Live! Superstar!! stated that the third episode of the anime is scheduled to air on August 8th.
The Tokyo Olympics were originally scheduled for July 24 to August 9, 2020, followed by the Paralympics from August 25 to September 6. However, both events were postponed due to the COVID-19 .
The event organizers announced in March that foreign spectators were prohibited from attending. Most events will also not have on-site spectators due to the pandemic.
