What's new in Dragon Quest I & II for the Switch and Switch 2 versions?
According to official information, the main difference lies in cross-platform compatibility. The Switch 2 version of Dragon Quest I & II will be exclusive to the new console, while the Switch edition will be compatible with both devices.
Therefore, those who purchase the Switch edition will also be able to play on the Switch 2. However, the opposite is not true. The version developed specifically for the Switch 2 does not run on the previous console, either physically or digitally.
