Cherry Magic! – Anime adaptation announced

Square Enix announced this Friday (14) that the manga “Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?!” (30-sai Dōtei da to Mahō Tsukai ni Nareru Rashii), by Yū Toyota is therefore inspiring an anime adaptation.

Chiaki Kobayashi stars as Kiyoshi Adachi, a 30-year-old salaryman, while Ryōta Suzuki plays his handsome and talented colleague, Yūichi Kurosawa.

Yoshiko Okuda (Kakuriyo – Bed & Breakfast for Spirits-) is directing the anime at studio Satelight. Takahiro Kishida (Durarara!!, Haikyu!!, Puella Magi Madoka Magica) is in charge of character design, and Tomoko Konparu (Kakuriyo – Bed & Breakfast for Spirits-, Uta no Prince-sama – Maji Love 1000%, Nodame Cantabile) is supervising the series scripts.

Synopsis

Adachi, a thirty-year-old virgin, developed the power to read people's minds by touching them. After an encounter with his very handsome colleague, Adachi realizes he's completely in love with none other than himself!

Finally, the manga “Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?!” began serialization on pixiv's Gangan pixiv service in 2018, and Square Enix will publish the 12th volume on July 22. Additionally, the work inspired a Japanese live-action television series that premiered on TV Tokyo in October 2020.
