Chinese production company Shanghai Minghuan Investment has officially announced that it is developing a live-action One Piece film , based on Eiichiro Oda . The information was released in a statement on Business Wire, revealing details that promise to thrill fans.

The company purchased the copyright directly from Oda, in a deal valued at 1.6 billion yen , an investment that demonstrates the project's magnitude. However, this deal reinforces the company's commitment to creating a respectful adaptation of the original material, maintaining the essence that has won over millions of fans around the world.

The cast will feature top actors from Japan and China

Actor Masataka Kubota , known for playing Light Yagami in the live-action Death Note , will play Monkey D. Luffy , the charismatic captain of the Straw Hat Pirates. Chinese actress and singer Xie Leilei , a member of the group GNZ48 , will also play the sweet and powerful Charlotte Purin .
