Chuuzenji-sensei Mononoke Synopsis:
This story takes place before the exorcist Kyogokudo opens a used bookstore… Our setting is Tokyo, 1948, just after the war. Kanna Kusakabe has just entered her second year of high school when she meets her new language teacher, Akihiko Chuzenji. Supernatural and mysterious things continue to happen around Kanna. Once again, today, she will open the doors of the library's preparation room in search of help from the grumpy Chuzenji-sensei, who awaits her inside. Meanwhile, a supernatural school mystery, featuring the unlikely duo of a student and a teacher, is about to begin!
Shimizu launched the manga in Kodansha's Shonen Magazine Edge in October 2019. The manga was transferred to Kodansha's Comic Days app when the magazine ended publication in October 2023. Kodansha will publish the manga's 10th compiled volume on October 8.
Finally, the manga is based on the Bara Jūji Sōsho novels (Rozen Kreuz series), which is described as a "shared world" of Kyōgoku's Hyakki Yakō novel series.
