"For the first time in the 50-year history of San Diego Comic-Con, the organizers behind the annual celebration of pop culture announced today with great regret that there will be no Comic-Con in 2020. The event will return to the San Diego Convention Center on July 22-25, 2021.".
Finally, the organizers also stated that tickets for this year's event can be refunded or transferred to next year's Comic-Con. Organization spokesperson David Glanzer commented on the cancellation:
“Extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures, and while we are saddened to make this decision, we know it is the right one ,” said Glanzer.
