The announcement is official. Comic-Con , the world's largest geek fair, held annually in San Diego, California, will be held here in Brazil. Taking place from December 4th to 7th at the Imigrantes Exhibition Center in São Paulo, the event will focus entirely on games, movies, TV series, and comics, and is expected to attract 60,000 visitors over four days.

Tickets are expected to go on sale starting in April. Pricing has not yet been announced.

According to sources, Pierre Mantovani, president of Comic-Con XP and CEO of the pop culture website Omelete , is behind the event's organization, which also includes two other investors. "In the United States, Comic-Con is the most important fair for fans of TV series, movies, comics, and games. The San Diego edition, which is the most traditional, attracts 150,000 people every year. Tickets sell out in 30 minutes," says the executive.

In Brazil, the event will be called Comic-Con Experience. More information coming soon.
