Fans have been asking for this, and it looks like developer CyberConnect2 has answered them! Based on the new gameplay footage (below), it looks like Team vs. Single will be present.
This means that one player can use support characters while another doesn't. In Storm 3 (the predecessor to the "Ninja Storm" franchise), this wasn't possible. You had to choose between Team Battle or Single Battle.
Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution was the latest game announced by Bandai Namco and CyberConnect2 in the "Naruto" series. The game will tell never-before-seen stories, including: how each member of the Akatsuki was recruited, the complete story of Uchiha Shisui, and Kushina's interaction with Team Minato. The game will also feature combined specials, something last seen in Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Accel 2 (PlayStation 2). In addition, there will be over 100 playable characters and 50 minutes of exclusive animation.
The game will be released in September 2014.
