NBC has confirmed the production of a pilot episode for the TV series Constantine , based on the comic book character created by Alan Moore , Steve Bissette , and Jamie Delano . Written and executive produced by David S. Goyer and Daniel Cerone , the series will follow John Constantine , an enigmatic and irreverent con man who becomes a supernatural detective and is forced to defend humanity against supernatural forces. Details about the cast are not yet available; more information will be released soon.
Constantine , created in 1985, was initially a recurring character in DC Comics ' " Swamp Thing Saga" before getting his own comic book series. He was brought to the big screen in 2005, in a role played by Keanu Reeves .
