Controversy surrounding the author of Spy x Family disliking his characters began when a Japanese website, Myjitsu, published an article from the official Spy x Family fanbook, in which we can see some statements from the series' author.
The author of Spy vs. Family doesn't seem to like his characters

Author Tatsuya Endo revealed that he “ feels no attachment to his characters ” and that they “ are the result of giving up many things ” meaning he abandoned his own style to design something based on what is popular today.
SPYxFAMILY fans was immediate , with numerous comments such as:
“I'm a little disappointed by the author's statement that he has no love for his characters“
“I've seen his statements make no appeal to the characters, and that's very noticeable”
" I think it's totally normal to feel zero attachment to a character, but I wish you hadn't brought that up just now ."
We can see the author's frustration, as he wanted to freely draw his work in his own style, but was ultimately prevented from doing so, probably by the publisher, who forced him to draw something more "popular" with an attractive design.
Leave your comment on the subject and on this revelation from the author. Do you agree with him?
