The original film Cosmic Princess Kaguya has revealed a new alternate visual and a final trailer ahead of its premiere. Additionally, the production has confirmed seven new names in the voice cast, adding to the prestige of the project which is coming soon to streaming .
With a premiere scheduled for January 22, 2026 , the film will be released exclusively worldwide by Netflix . Cosmic Princess Kaguya marks the first film directed by Seigo Yamashita, known for directing successful anime Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man . Therefore, the project is already surrounded by expectation.
The story of Cosmic Princess Kaguya follows girls connected by music and live streams in Tsukuyomi, a virtual world guided by dreams and hope. Meanwhile, the new visual shows Kaguya and Ayaha in the real world, revealing the protagonist's daily life as a streamer. Therefore, the contrast between reality and the digital universe is highlighted.
The trailer uses the theme song “Ex-Otogibanashi,” composed by ryo (supercell). Additionally, the film features the original song “Shunkan, Symphony.”, composed by 40mP.
In the cast, Miyu Irino plays Akira Tei, leader of the Black Onyx group. On the other hand, Yuma Uchida, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, Aoyama Yoshino, Konomi Kohara, Fairouz Ai and Natsuki Hanae complete the main team.
Finally, Cosmic Princess Kaguya promises to unite music, technology, and emotion in an original take on anime.
