Newtype magazine has released its cover for the new film Sword Art Online: Progressive – Aria of a Starless Night – Movie, which will be released next year. According to the official Twitter account , the adaptation will be released in 2022 and will revolve around the 5th floor of Aincrad in the original story.

The current Sword Art Online: Progressive – Hoshi Naki Yoru no Aria is directed by Ayako Kawano at A-1 Pictures . Kento Toya ( Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld , The Seven Deadly Sins: Revival of The Commandments ) is designing the characters.
The film is based on the light novel Progressive by author Reki Kawahara . The novel was released in 2012 as a revised version retelling events that occurred in Sword Art Online.
Finally, the story describes Kirito's journey through the floating castle of Aincrad from the beginning, floor by floor.
