CD Projekt RED has confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.3 will be released this Thursday, July 17th, bringing a series of new features for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Mac players. The new package adds new missions, exclusive vehicles, technical improvements, and, among the highlights, the long-awaited auto-driving function.

The update will not initially be available for the Nintendo Switch 2, which is expected to receive it at a later date. Older versions, such as PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, will not be included.

Self-driving car debuts with the Delamain taxi service
One of the major highlights of the update is the AutoDrive system, which allows the player to navigate Night City without needing to control the vehicle. Furthermore, the player can activate the function at any time by selecting a destination on the map, ensuring greater convenience, especially on long journeys.
The Delamain taxi service also returns in grand style. Now fully functional, the system allows you to request rides with cinematic cameras that highlight the futuristic look of the city. Thus, the new service offers a more dynamic and visually immersive transportation experience.
New missions unlock exclusive vehicles
In addition to the technical changes, update 2.3 includes new missions that unlock three cars and a motorcycle. The player unlocks each vehicle by completing the missions and can add them to their own garage.
These side missions enrich the narrative and reward exploration, encouraging players to revisit less explored areas of Night City.

Photo mode gains creative features and greater control
Cyberpunk 2077's photo mode has been turbocharged. Now, it's possible to customize the weather and time of day when capturing scenes. In addition, the update also includes new poses for NPCs, clothing, stickers, and frames, offering a wider range of visual options.
Thus, these tools transform photo mode into a more creative and personalized experience, ideal for those who like to capture epic moments within the game.
Update brings support for advanced graphics technologies
From a technical standpoint, version 2.3 adds support for VRR, AMD FSR 4, AMD FSR 3.1 Frame Generation, and Intel XeSS 2.0, improving visual performance and game fluidity.
Furthermore, HDR settings have been optimized, ensuring more intense and realistic colors. These improvements reinforce the game's ability to deliver a high-level visual experience, especially on the most powerful consoles and PCs.
However, despite the global launch scheduled for July 17th, Nintendo Switch 2 players will have to wait a little longer. CD Projekt RED will release the update for the platform at a later date, but has not yet set an exact date.
