The highly anticipated sequel to Cyberpunk: Edgerunners has received another update. Studio TRIGGER has unveiled Roman Carax , the third main character in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 , a new anime set in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe . The full announcement is scheduled for June 29th, but fans attending the Annecy International Animation Film Festival already had access to an exclusive preview.
Roman Carax is described as a young man passionate about cinema who seeks authentic stories in Night City, a futuristic metropolis where films have been replaced by so-called neurodance. However, obsessed with recording the truth, he closely follows the lives of others, becoming a silent witness to significant events in the city.
Creative team confirmed
The anime will have 10 episodes, telling an intense story of redemption and revenge. Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2 will be directed by Kai Ikarashi, who directed the "Girl on Fire" episode of the original series. Character design will be by Ichigo Kanno, and Masahiko Otsuka will write the script. It will premiere exclusively on Netflix.
For those unfamiliar, the first anime presented a standalone story about a young man trying to survive in Night Cityby becoming a mercenary known as an edgerunner.
