Netflix 's Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime in partnership with studio Trigger has its first trailer highlighting the mind-bending action and bizarre body modifications inspired by CD PROJEKT RED 's Cyberpunk 2077 .

Synopsis
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners tells a story about a street kid trying to survive in a future city obsessed with technology and body modification. With everything to lose, he chooses to stay alive by becoming an edgerunner – a mercenary outlaw also known as a cyberpunk.

The anime will feature 10-30 minute episodes. Despite the relationship with the game Cyberpunk 2077, the anime is independent, and prior knowledge of the game's story is not necessary.
Hiroyuki ( Kill la Kill ) is directing the anime at studio Trigger, while Yoh Yoshinari ( BNA: Brand New Animal ) is the animation director and character designer. Hiromi Wakabayashi ( Kill la Kill , Promare) is the creative director, Masahiko Otsuka ( Star Wars: Visions 'The Elder') and Yoshiki Usa (creative director on SSSS.Gridman , SSSS.Dynazenon ) as screenwriters. Hiroyuki Kaneko as assistant director, Yuuto Kaneko and Yusuke Yoshigaki as character design assistants, and Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill games) as music composer.
Furthermore, the song “This Fffire” by the band Franz Ferdinand will be the anime's opening theme song.
Finally, CD PROJEK RED 's Cyberpunk 2077 was released for Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC in November 2020.
