The animation will be done by Feel (Kiss x sis), directed by Shigehito Takayanagi (Tokyo ESP) and character design by Kanetoshi Kamimoto (Burst Angel).
Dagashi Kashi tells the story of young Shikada Kokonotsu who is the son of the owner of a candy store. Kokonotsu's father wants his son to inherit the store and take charge of the business, but the young man has other plans: he wants to be a mangaka! However, one day a beautiful girl named Shidare Hotaru, from a famous candy company, will pay a visit to Kokonotsu's father's candy store with the idea of getting him to join her family's company, but he says that He will only accept the proposal if it makes Kokonotsu take over the family business!
