On board the flight to Shimane: tension and provocations

The narrative begins with Momo Ayase, Seiko Ayase, Jin “Jiji” Enjoji, Unji Zuma, Vamola, Daiki Hakono, and Raiya boarding a flight to Shimane. The group hopes to find a cure for the curses that afflict them, the worsening of which was evidenced in the previous chapter. However, the atmosphere among the passengers is far from peaceful.

Jiji appears extremely nervous about the situation and is comforted by Momo. Meanwhile, Vamola tries to talk to Zuma, who responds listlessly. The tension builds with turbulence, leading to a curious moment where Momo is thrown from Jiji's shoulder to Zuma's. Although he doesn't see her, he can sense her presence, something that cheers Momo up but also raises questions about the connection between the two.

Zuma, still unaware of Momo's name, calls her "girl," which irritates her. From there, a heated exchange develops between Jiji and Zuma, with Jiji trying to distance him from the group. Zuma, in turn, states that he intends to stay close to Momo, not romantically, but of his own free will. This confrontation reveals Jiji's discomfort, who becomes visibly embarrassed and irritated, provoked by Zuma.

Relaxed interactions and a climate of rivalry in Dandadan

The rivalry between the two takes on comical tones when Jiji asks to switch places with Zuma, claiming he can't stand his presence. Vamola, always kind, allows the switch, but asks Zuma to avoid provoking Jiji, emphasizing that he is a good person. This gesture cheers Jiji up and makes him ironically comment on the situation, clearly demonstrating the lighthearted and humorous tone that permeates part of the chapter, even amidst the growing tension.

Seiko falls ill and danger approaches

Amidst this confusion, Momo notices something strange about Seiko Ayase, her grandmother. Jiji suggests calling the crew, but Seiko refuses help, attributing her illness to the medication she took. Jiji then offers to use his chi in an attempt to heal her.

At that moment, the atmosphere changes drastically. A mysterious assailant stealthily approaches Jiji with a knife in hand, but is stopped at the last second by Umbrella Boy, the yokai spirit of Futa, Zuma's deceased brother. The unexpected intervention saves Jiji, but unleashes true chaos on board.

Hidden enemies and mid-air combat

The scene quickly intensifies as more passengers reveal themselves to be disguised enemies. A new attack attempt against Jiji is thwarted by a well-aimed kick from Seiko. Other team members prepare for battle, while Raiya and Zuma try to protect Vamola.

However, Vamola demonstrates that she doesn't need protection. She activates her kaiju exoskeleton and states that she will be fine, showing her growth as a character. At this point, Momo has a crucial idea: she asks Vamola to summon the Void Space, an alternate dimension where the passengers can be safe from the attack.

First time in the Empty Space and revelation of the villains

While transporting the passengers to the Empty Space, Seiko has her first experience in this supernatural environment, adding another layer of complexity to the narrative. In the chapter's climax, the aggressors are finally revealed: they are members of the Kito family, with Naki Kito appearing before the group, making it clear that a confrontation is inevitable.

The revelation confirms readers' suspicions that the Kito family would return seeking revenge, with no intention of waiting for the group's arrival in Shimane. The chapter ends with both sides poised to engage in a direct and large-scale battle.
