On board the flight to Shimane: tension and provocations

The story begins with Momo Ayase, Seiko Ayase, Jin "Jiji" Enjoji, Unji Zuma, Vamola, Daiki Hakono, and Raiya boarding a flight to Shimane. The group hopes to find a cure for the curses that plague them, whose worsening was revealed in the previous chapter. However, the atmosphere among the passengers is far from peaceful.

Jiji appears extremely nervous about the situation, but Momo comforts him. Meanwhile, Vamola tries to talk to Zuma, who responds dejectedly. The tension escalates with turbulence, leading to a curious moment when Momo is thrown from Jiji's shoulder to Zuma's. Although he can't see her, he can feel her presence, which cheers Momo up but also raises questions about their connection.

Zuma, still unaware of Momo's name, calls her "girl," which irritates her. From there, a heated argument develops between Jiji and Zuma, with Jiji trying to alienate him from the group. Zuma, in turn, states that he intends to remain close to Momo, not romantically, but voluntarily. This clash reveals Jiji's discomfort, who becomes visibly embarrassed and irritated, being provoked by Zuma.

Relaxed interactions and a climate of rivalry in Dandadan

The rivalry between the two takes on a comical tone when Jiji asks to switch places with Zuma, claiming he can't stand his presence. Vamola, ever gracious, allows the switch but asks Zuma to avoid provoking Jiji, emphasizing that he's a good person. This gesture makes Jiji perk up and joke about the situation, highlighting the lighthearted and humorous tone that permeates part of the episode, even amid the growing tension.

Seiko is feeling unwell and danger is approaching.

In the midst of this confusion, Momo realizes something is wrong with Seiko Ayase, her grandmother. Jiji suggests calling the crew, but Seiko refuses help, attributing her discomfort to the medication she took. Jiji then offers to use his chi to try to cure her.

At that moment, the atmosphere changes dramatically. A mysterious assailant sneaks up on Jiji with a knife in hand, but is stopped at the last second by Umbrella Boy, the yokai spirit of Futa, Zuma's deceased brother. The unexpected intervention saves Jiji but unleashes chaos on board.

Hidden enemies and mid-flight fighting

The scene quickly escalates as more passengers reveal themselves to be enemies in disguise. A new attack on Jiji is thwarted by a well-aimed kick from Seiko. Other crew members prepare for battle, while Raiya and Zuma try to protect Vamola.

However, Vamola demonstrates that she doesn't need protecting. She activates her kaiju exoskeleton and asserts that she will be fine, demonstrating her growth as a character. At this point, Momo has a crucial idea: she asks Vamola to summon Empty Space, an alternate dimension where the passengers can be safe from the attack.

First time in Empty Space and villains revealed

By transporting the passengers to the Empty Space, Seiko has her first experience of this supernatural environment, which adds another layer of complexity to the narrative. At the chapter's climax, the attackers finally reveal themselves: they are members of the Kito family, with Naki Kito appearing before the group, making it clear that a confrontation is inevitable.

The revelation confirms readers' suspicions that the Kito family would return with a vengeance, with no intention of waiting for the group's arrival in Shimane. The chapter ends with the two sides poised to engage in a full-scale, all-out battle.
