The first season of Dandadan brought exciting moments, but like any series, it had its ups and downs. Episode 11, although it did not maintain the standard of the best, seemed transitory, becoming rushed. Some of these points had an impact on episode 12, becoming another patch episode.

- Sony buys part of Kadokawa and enters the anime market
Episode 12, titled “Let's Go to the Cursed House” , managed to regain its momentum, delivering a finale that balanced chaotic comedy, scary enemies and a mystery. Despite the effort, the end of the season left a mixed feeling, with some moments that could have been better worked on in the ending.
Jiji shines as Dandadan's charismatic character
Since his first appearance, Jiji has won over fans with his infectious charisma and almost exaggerated energy. However, what makes Jiji really interesting is his duality. Beneath the positive surface, there is a dark side that episode 12 explores by revealing that the yokai that haunts his house is directly linked to him.
Additionally, his childhood connection with Momo adds layers to the story, especially in the impact it has on Okarun. Jiji acts as a catalyst, pushing Okarun beyond his comfort zone and causing him to become more active in the story.
Dandadan continues to play with genres
Dandadan 's trademarks is his ability to move between genres with ease. From high school romance to intense action, the anime maintains its essence while exploring different tones. In the final episode, the story takes on an almost Scooby-Doo , with Momo, Okarun and Jiji investigating the mysteries of Jiji's hometown.
The new enemies introduced, apparently ordinary citizens, add a climate of suspense, with penetrating gazes and an unsettling presence. This change in tone expanded the fun, but left questions about the direction the series will take in the future.
What to expect from Dandadan season 2?
Despite some questionable narrative decisions, the season finale brought a lukewarm cliffhanger, with Momo's life hanging by a thread and the mystery of Jiji's house still unsolved. These cliffhangers at the end of the season suggested that the entire 12th episode should be the beginning of the 2nd season.
In turn, Dandadan has the potential to surpass itself in season 2. The biggest challenge will be maintaining the balance between genres and the quality of production. Stay tuned to AnimeNew for more news about the series and its 2nd season!
