Jin Enoji , better known as Jiji, is a new character who won Momo over right away. He currently lives at her house because his parents are hospitalized. To Okarun's dismay, he even transferred to the same class as Momo.
Jiji in Dandadan brings silly humor to the story with his antics. Despite appearing carefree, his family situation weighs heavily on him. Jiji knows that the evil spirit hiding in his house is responsible for the series of misfortunes. With all attempts to expel it failing, he has no choice but to ask Seiko Ayase for help.
Unfortunately, Seiko's powers don't work outside of Kamigoe City. So, she entrusts Momo with the task of exorcising the spirit. Although Momo is only a newly awakened psychic, Seiko has faith in her granddaughter. Fans who only follow the anime don't know this, but Jiji will become one of the strongest characters in the series. The manga currently has 176 chapters, and few new characters have emerged since then to challenge his strength. However, Jiji doesn't obtain his powers through conventional methods, as is typical of the Dandadan cast. The story will feature a surprising plot twist, changing the course of the narrative.

People like Momo and Seiko with innate abilities are extremely rare. The only way for an ordinary person to gain supernatural powers is through certain conditions upon contact with a spirit. Okarun uses Granny Turbo's curse to his advantage and utilizes her abilities. The downside is that he becomes extremely depressed while maintaining his Yokai form. On the other hand, Aira gains her powers after Acrobatic Silky transfers his aura to her.
However, Jiji is possessed by the Evil Eye in chapter 40 (second season of the anime). This is the same spirit that haunts his house. The resentment and hatred towards humans fuel the Evil Eye's power. It has waited centuries for a perfect vessel to carry out its plan. An athlete, Jiji has a physique stronger than the average teenager. He possesses powerful spiritual energy, making him one of the rare cases like Momo and Seiko. In fact, the Evil Eye's powers are far superior to those of Momo and her friends. However, Jiji's difficulties begin after the possession.
What is Jiji's future in Dandadan?
The Dandadan anime will conclude the Cursed House Arc in its second season, where fans will learn more about Jiji and his struggles. He feels pity for the Evil Eye and trusts it despite the adversities. His efforts will continue in the Evil Eye Arc, the fifth narrative arc of Dandadan, where he deals with possession.
Dandadan will conclude its first season on December 19, 2024, so fans will have to wait a while to see how it all unfolds. While there's no official confirmation of a sequel, studio Science SARU will likely share an update after the finale.
