Spike Chunsoft has announced the production of its new series in the "Danganronpa" franchise, titled Danganronpa 3: The End of Kibougamine Gakuen, with a premiere scheduled for 2016.
The first series is called Danganronpa: The Animation, animated by Studio Lerche, and consisted of 13 episodes that aired from July to September 2013. It was directed by Seiji Kishi, with character designs by Kazuaki Morita and Ryoko Amisaki.
The story follows a group of 15 elite students gathered at a very special school. The school is presided over by Monokuma, who explains that completing the course involves committing murder. The only way to graduate is by killing one of their classmates without being discovered. If their classmates discover the killer's identity, only the killer is killed.
